If you want to give yourself the best gift possible during your stay in Florence, book as much of your time as possible with Silvia Bragagni as your private tour guide. Group walking tours are lovely and we do them all the time but for roughly the same cost (with 2 people and less with the more than 2) you can experience Florence and all her treasures as if a dear, local friend were taking you to all the very best parts. Silvia’s art history knowledge made our visits to the Uffizi and Accademia the most fascinating museum trips we’ve ever had. She was an endless wealth of information for what to do, see and eat. Our time with her was priceless!!!

What a spectacular tour! Silvia is incredibly knowledgeable about Machiavelli, his work, and the many places related to him and his family, as well as the history and culture of Florence. Also, Sylvia provided amazing recommendations for restaurants, leather shops, and jewelry stores. Cannot recommend her enough!

My city tour with Silvia was the high point of my week in Italy. Her knowledge of Florence is layered. In the tour and conversation she did not hold back. The textured story of how the structure and roads revealed about the powerful families of Florence and the hidden violence. “Tony, the location of the statue Hercules thrashing a thief as ‘The David’ looks is not by accident.” These are symbols to the people. I was intrigued in the way she explained the public arts and collections (of tiny spheres, baubles, mosaics and other intricacies) were actually to mesmerize the people, Creating a “Golden Cage.” On every winding connected ally was a story. In every street name she revealed the “double message”. The walk was extremely relevant as a tourist driven world is moving some families away from the city-centre and new center of arts in Italy begins to emerge in Naples. She left me with haunting questions. “Where is the next Michelangelo? A person of art, engineering, poetry and politics.” “The shop is the school. How do we keep these talents/skills passed down thru families here in Florence?” Silvia is a “Real One” the ability to connect Florence to me gave me chills and a smile. We are all facing the same challenges to save the public square, public arts and healthy public debate. I am very grateful to have connected to this beautiful soul who is both a California beach girl and Firenze most valuable guide!

I really enjoyed the personal Machiavelli Tour with tour guide Silvia.It filled in the gaps in Machiavelli's life which you cannot get from reading his books and pointed out places around Florence related to The Machiavelli family and Machiavelli's political life which brings his books to life .It was well worth the Money.A very enjoyable day.
