Looks like an 1980s workman's club from the outside but very modern and clean throughout the inside, and I can't really fault the hotel. Food was decent (dinner and breakfast) and drinks were reasonably priced. We stayed here and popped to Wakefield for a night out so we were not in the hotel for long. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're planning a night out in Wakefield.

Perfectly fine Holiday Inn, but rather than trying to be a hotel has decided to focus on becoming a night club. Hosting a Christmas party to make revenue, which clearly is far more important than paying guests. Impossible to sleep in this hotel when music is playing so loudly from the DJ in reception at 1am at the morning. No warning provided. Avoid this hotel at all costs ⚠️, and this is coming from a IHG Gold member!! Just shocking.

Staff were very helpful and I appreciated the kindness the waitresses showed my husband who has a visual impairment. Hotel lovely and clean and breakfast and dinner was plentiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Booked a room as was attending a wedding and wanted to join in the celebration (so I didn’t want to drive home)
Cost £81 without breakfast the room was for me my husband and my son so 1 double bed with sofa bed both bed mattress was like sleeping on bare springs didn’t any sleep most I think we got was 10 mins as it was just too unbearable to even cat nap on I don’t expect a luxury mattress for the price as I know it’s cheaper than some but do expect to be able to at least get a good night sleep.
The hotel receptionist was very friendly polite lady couldn’t fault her or the other staff room was very clean including bathroom area.
This is why I’ve given it such a low rating

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was quite pleasant but bathroom had some areas that needed a more thorough clean. Breakfast was disappointing - orange juice that was just orange-coloured water, poor selection of breads, poorly presented hot selection etc. We ate half an hour before the end of service but it looked like they had stopped refreshing the food so just the scraps were left.

Our first visit to a Holiday Inn Express and definitely we will be back. Rooms were good value and comfortable with everything you could need for a restful break. Breakfast was good with a variety of options on offer. All in all - we would recommend.

Currently on a 4 week training course and of course being away from can be very lonely. The staff have made my stay more bearable as they are so friendly and nothing is too much . I want to say a particular big thank you to Ash,Becky and the gang they are absolutely brilliant people. All the staff are very hard working. Thank you all
